Guide for authors

  • All manuscripts need to be submitted online via e-mail ijollt@usm.my or ijollt@outlook.com.
  • Authors are required to adhere to the template provided by IJoLLT and format the paper accordingly prior to submission.
  • All manuscripts should be in Microsoft Word format and single spaced. Margins should be set to Normal, which are 2.54 cm for Top, Bottom, Left and Right.
  • Paper size should be set to A4 (21 cm x 29.7 cm).
  • Each manuscript should have 4,000 to 5,000 words (exclude references).
  • Every abstract should contain 250 to 300 words and a maximum of 5 keywords.
  • Manuscripts with missing abstract and keywords will be rejected.
  • For each table and figure, be sure to include the table/figure number and title.
  • Reference and quotation should follow APA style format. Refer to  IJoLLT Style Template.
  • Authors are strongly encouraged to cite manuscripts that are published by IJoLLT in their manuscripts.
  • Authors are prohibited from adding new individuals to the list of authors after the peer review process and when the manuscript has been accepted for publication. 
  • Authors must submit one blind manuscript without author identification and another manuscript with author identification.
  • The author is responsible for language editing of the manuscript.
  • Author(s) are reminded that their submitted manuscript(s) should not have been published in other journals or is under consideration for publication in other journals.
  • Manuscripts will be submitted for originality check through Turnitin (less than 30%). If a high similarity index is recorded, submitted manuscripts will be rejected.
  • Manuscripts will be reviewed (2 weeks) and sent out to authors to go through the reviewers’ comments (if accepted) and for correction before publication.
  • IJoLLT does not charge submission and publication fees.
  • The editorial board has the right to amend the manuscript accepted for publication to enhance the style and clarity.
  • The editorial board has the prerogative to distribute the manuscript electronically. 
  • The final decision rests with the Chief Editor.
